Bethlehem Concert Series
Music to Stretch the Mind and Feed the Soul will again be heard in the Bethlehem's
sanctuary during the 2008-09 year. The annual Concert series features local, regional and
nationally known ensembles. The 2008-09 season includes:
- Great River Chorale, Cantabile, and the Youth Chorale of Central Minnesota. Saturday and
Sunday, December 13 and 14. This annual event packs the house as the three groups perform
traditional and new music of the season.
- The Rose Ensemble sings on Tuesday, December 16 in a program of Christmas music
celebrating Latino influences. This highly regarded group is known for stunning
performances, well-researched programs and unusual and rare performances of music heard in
all corners of the world.
- Minnesota Center Chorale sings on Sunday, March 22. This group with a long-standing
history of fine performances returns to Bethlehem for a program "Legend and
Lore" celebrating the Scandinavian music and featuring the St. John's Boys Choir.
- The Bethlehem Chamber Orchestra returns to perform in the Sanctuary in April. This
unique orchestra features professionals and students from Bethlehem and the central
Minnesota community. Beverley Williams and Steven Eckblad return to direct.
- "Her Story, Her Song" returns to Bethlehem's Concert Series program on
Tuesday, April 21. This program which is presented by the SCSU Music Dept, Cantabile,
Women's Choir and faculty join together to honor women and girls in word and song.
